Dr. Bushra Mahdi

Dr. Bushra Mahdi is a medical doctor and a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) based in Ontario, Canada. With a foundation in medicine and a deep interest in the human mind, Dr. Mahdi transitioned into the field of psychotherapy to provide more holistic care that integrates both physical and emotional well-being. Her dual background allows her to bring a unique and comprehensive perspective to mental health care.
She works with adults facing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, ADHD, trauma, marriage and relationship issues, and life transitions. She also supports individuals navigating cultural adjustment, identity exploration, and personal growth. Dr. Mahdi offers a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients feel safe to explore their challenges and move toward meaningful change.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing on evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions. She tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, goals, and values. Her medical background enhances her understanding of the mind-body connection, the impact of physical health on mental well-being, and the role of medication when relevant to treatment.
Dr. Mahdi is deeply committed to building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Nishat Fatima

Nishat Fatima is a distinguished psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience delivering empathetic, client-centered mental health care to individuals, families, and marginalized communities. Specializing in complex conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, Fatima offers culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy to a diverse population. Her global expertise, spanning multiple countries, has allowed her to develop innovative therapeutic techniques that address each client’s unique needs.
Fatima is proficient in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Relaxation Strategies, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her wide-ranging skills include motivational interviewing, trauma-informed counseling, and couples therapy.
Fatima’s impact extends globally. At BRAC University in Bangladesh, she played a pivotal role in supporting Rohingya refugees and leading mental health interventions for survivors of humanitarian crises, including the Rana Plaza disaster. Her leadership in psychoeducation and capacity-building programs has left a lasting influence on global mental health initiatives.
Fatima played a crucial role in designing and implementing professional development programs for postgraduate students in Early Childhood Development and undergraduate students in Psychology at different universities in Bangladesh through international collaboration. She developed and offered training in mother’s mental health and child development at the University of Toronto, Mississauga. She was involved in several research studies in the field of mother’s mental health and early childhood development.
Fatima holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Vienna, a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Dhaka, and additional qualifications in various therapeutic practices. Fluent in English, Bangla, and Hindi, she ensures inclusive, compassionate care for clients from all walks of life.
